General Update

Ever walk into a place and have a how did I get here moment? Like...What did I do in my life to wind up here in this moment? lol.

Tonight I discovered that behind a local gas station where a car wash used to be there is a music studio. Real deal. Purple walls, Apple electronics, shady back entrance...etc. Same thing you would expect to see in the ATL. I know I have seen Stevie J walk out of less impressive places during episodes of  Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta. Im going to look more into what these charge for production and let you guys know. Ive heard their stuff and its good quality stuff.

Another thing is that there is a young joc show coming to salisbury this month. One of our very own local artist may be opening up for it, Ill also keep you posted on that.

Lastly, just to throw it in all of your faces....My favorite 3 on The Voice are still in it ;)

Bye for now

Fiona Apple Cancels tour to be with her sick dog

Okay. Im going to post the story for you guys but let me just express my feelings on the subject first.

Basically, Fiona Apple, cancelled an entire South American tour (millions of dollars possibly) to spend time with her dog which she says is dying. Her dog has a disease and has been sick for years but it now seems more ill to her so she thinks she is dying. No medical professional of the animal variety has actually stated that the dog is dying. So my main question is ...what if the dog is still alive this time next year? Are there going to be more cancelled tours?

Another question that I would like to raise is why doesnt she just take the dog with her on tour? Wouldnt that be the easier and more logical solution? Im sure she has the means to make sure that her pet travels comfortably and is well cared for while on the road. That way she could see her pet every night after the show. On her last tour she left the dog home and didnt see her at all.

Lastly I just get a weird vibe by how she refers to this dog as her mother and her daughter and all of this stuff. I get the daughter part sort of , but the mother part is odd and makes me wonder about the mental stability of Fiona Apple. I love animals but this just seems a tad off putting. And...who names a dog Janet? lol jk

Atleast she bothered to write a letter to fans.

Fiona Apple Cancels Tour To Be With Her Dying Dog

'I just can't leave her now, please understand,' Apple writes about the declining health of her dog in an open letter to fans.

Fiona Apple is canceling her upcoming South American tour due to the declining health of her dog, Janet.
No, we're not kidding ... and no, we don't have any problem with her decision, especially given the heartfelt letter she penned to fans and posted on her Facebook page Tuesday (November 20), in which she calls her beloved dog "My best friend and my mother and my daughter, my benefactor" and "the one who taught me what love is."
"I got her when she was four months old, I was 21 then, an adult officially, and she was my child ... Janet has been the most consistent relationship of my adult life, and that is just a fact," Apple wrote. "She slept in bed with me, her head on the pillow, and she accepted my hysterical, tearful face into her chest, with her paws around me, every time I was heartbroken, or spirit-broken, or just lost, and as years went by, she let me take the role of her child, as I fell asleep, with her chin resting above my head."
Apple added that Janet suffers from Addison's disease, a rare endocrine disorder in which the adrenal glands do not produce sufficient steroid hormones, and needs frequent Cortisol injections to deal with the condition. Janet had been coping for years, but when Apple returned from the most recent leg of her U.S. tour in support of the The Idler Wheel ... album, she noticed a marked difference in the dog's health ... and now, she fears she can't leave her "best friend's side."
"If I go away again, I'm afraid she'll die and I won't have the honor of singing her to sleep, of escorting her out. Sometimes it takes me 20 minutes to pick which socks to wear to bed. But this decision is instant," she wrote. "I will not be the woman who puts her career ahead of love and friendship ... I just can't leave her now, please understand."
Apple recently posed with a portrait of Janet in a New York Times profile, and has taken a cut-out of the dog onstage during Idler Wheel shows. Her South American tour was set to kick off on November 27 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. At press time, there has been no word on when those dates will be rescheduled, but Apple promises she'll make them up, closing the letter with a solemn "I'll be seeing you."
Do you support Apple's decision to spend time with her ailing pooch? Let us know in the comments below.

Cee Lo Green accused of sexual assault!

Well I will tell you the story then I will post my opinion on how it went down....

Cee Lo Accuser
He Slipped Me Ecstasy
And Had Sex with Me
EXCLUSIVE
1101-tmz-cee-lo-green
The woman who filed a police report accusing Cee Lo of sexual battery secretly recorded a conversation with the singer, and sources involved in the case tell TMZ ... Cee Lo admitted slipping her a drug and then having sex with her -- something the singer denies.

The woman has told cops ... Cee Lo took her to a downtown L.A. restaurant in July. They had a drink and she says she remembers nothing after that. The woman claims the next thing she knew she was lying naked in a bed and Cee Lo was in the room.

We're told the woman, who does not live in California, almost immediately went to her local law enforcement agency and reported the incident. The matter was eventually referred to the LAPD.

Sources tell us ... LAPD detectives had the woman make a "pretext call" -- a call in which someone baits the other party into acknowledging a crime or other misdeed -- and it was recorded.

Sources involved in the case represent to TMZ ... Cee Lo is on tape, repeatedly apologizing and referencing MDMA (Ecstasy) -- though he does not specifically say he put it in her drink. Sources say Cee Lo told her he thought the drug would help them have an exciting time together. For the record, MDMA generally does not render people unconscious.

Sources connected with Cee Lo scoff at the claim, saying if the tape contained such admissions Cee Lo would already be under arrest.

As we first reported ... detectives went to the restaurant last week to determine if employees saw anything unusual between Cee Lo and the woman.

And we're told ... LAPD detectives will refer the matter to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office when the investigation is completed.

Sources connected to Cee Lo tell us ... the accuser went to a civil lawyer BEFORE going to police and demanded money from the singer to make the whole thing go away. Other sources tell us a different story -- that her lawyer called Cee Lo's manager to find out if the singer had any communicable diseases and never made any money demands.

Our Cee Lo sources say the manager shut the lawyer down and that's when she went to cops. Other sources say she called the cops BEFORE her lawyer called Cee Lo's manager.

Well I think this is bullshit. I would be willing to bet money that the girl took ecstacy willingly and then tried to say the next day ..oh I didnt want to sleep with you on the first date, it was the ecstacy. And that is why he is heard on the recording saying ..oh my bad I thought it would improve our evening. He is clearly not admitting to slipping her drugs. She just wants money. That is why she hired a civil lawyer first and they approached him for money. Only after he refused to pay her did she file a police report. If she was really assaulted she would have called the police in the first place..not asked for money. Get the fuck out of here. If this hurts his career at all that would be disgusting. I hope the voice atleast keeps him on for the rest of the season. Word on the street was that this is his last season anyway.

The Voice/ Nicholas David

Okay so this year I finally succumbed and started watching the show The Voice. I never watched it before because I felt like it was a rip off of American Idol, but it is actually quite different and it has some real talent on it. I will watch anything where I can see some raw talent for the first time.

Right now Im into this old head that is on there. This guy Nicholas David is pretty amazing. He looks like a bum with long shaggy hair and he is like 50 years old but when he starts singing he has so much soul. His understanding of music is crazy. He is possibly the most soulful hippy ever. Nicholas David is on Cee-Lo 's team. Im also a huge Cee- lo fan , clearly he has good taste. If this guy doesnt win the whole show I am sure he will still be successful. Mark my words.

Itunes has a section with singles featured on the show. Just go on Itunes and scroll down and you will see an icon in red and says The Voice. Click on that to get to the singles. Again, the guys name is Nicholas David and he has 3 singles featured on Itunes so far I think.

Black Star / Mos Def and Talib Kweli

I marked another item off of my bucket list Saturday night. I saw Black Star perform in Atlantic City at the House of Blues. Black Star is comprised of Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Both of which are lyrical geniuses. Atlantic City actually started evacuating while I was there so the show was very intimate. Wasnt crowded at all and I got to be very close to the stage.

Neither artist has aged a day in 10 years and their show wasnt lacking at all for a couple of middle aged guys. I would rate the show right up there with Wu Tang who I saw when I was 15. They had tons of energy through the entire show and even their dj was amazing. Mos danced the whole show like a crazy person and they smiled and joked with one another. The chemistry they have is amazing. A crowd favorite of course was when they did Talibs "Get By." My favorite was when they did a track over Slick Ricks bed time story song. It was sooooo hot. Knock 'em out the park Mos , knock 'em out the park. Talib danced and mimicked swinging a bat during that segment.

PICS!!!!!

ohDanger! Interview (Jim Colliton)

I have a special treat. Its another addition to my series of local artist interviews. I interviewed a DJ out of Salisbury that goes by the name ohDanger!.

His real name is Jim Colliton. Some people may not agree that a DJ should be considered an artist or musician. I dont think it is for me to decide on that, I asked him what his opinion was on that topic. He gave me a semi cryptic response. He said "Producers are musicians. I like to think of Djs as chefs who use the ingredients made by producers to make something tasty." I can see where he is coming from with that answer. I mean a lot of the songs we hear are played for us by a dj whether it be on the radio or in a bar or club and some djs have as large of a fan base as any artist (Pauly D, Funkmaster Flex, Spinderella, etc).

ohDanger! got into music in the most unlikely of ways. Believe it or not the United States military is what led him down the path he is on musically. In 2003 shortly after he graduated high school he joined the air force. They almost immediately shipped him off to Germany. When he arrived there his main interest were classic punk and just plain rock, but after spending two years there in the services he had grown more inclined to listen to electronic music which is more main stream there than it is in the US. The album that first got him hooked on that genre was Fat Boy Slim : Live at Brighton Beach. After his two years in Germany, Jim was stationed in Hawaii. There he met a friend that got him into Drum and Bass. He fell in love with it and that is the style of music that he does sets of now.

Most people here in the US are not familiar with Drum and Bass, but dubstep has recently become popular and it could be compared to something like that.  Now that he is out of the military, Jim, resides in Salisbury, MD and djs as his hobby. He has done a few gigs here and there but is limited due to the style not being highly sought after here in the states. ohDanger! hopes to make a name for himself and is looking into making a career out of being a dj one day.

As for Jims personal life, he says he doesnt party much. I know that we all probably picture djs to rage with the best of 'em, but apparently that is not the case. We probably assume that since they provide the music that we the people rage to. He says if he is not doing a set he is probably just hanging out with a few close friends. As for girls...he says that he "enjoys the company of women."

I also asked the up and comer what album he would chose if he were limited to only one for the rest of his life to listen to and that would be Modern English: After the Snow. SOOOO Im going to link you to some of ohDanger! s music and if you like that then perhaps you should check out some of his favorites, which I will also provide links for. His one recommendation for his fans is that you should all visit Europe one day and check out the music scene there, the contrast is vast.

Ebony Dubsters: Ra -original sin remix

Robin S. : Show me Love

Nicki Minaj fights Mariah Carey

Well everyone knows what American Idol is. As wack as the concept may seem, I have enjoyed a few seasons of the show myself. Im always looking for new talent and I enjoy the fact that after the performances if you like the contestants version of a song you can purchase it on tunes. So far the only two purchases I have made was of Ruben Studdards "Tears of a clown" and Haley Reinharts "House of the Rising Sun" . One was from like 2004 and the other was from the year before last. Needless to say Im picky. Anyhow this year the judges of Idol are changing. For the last two years it has been Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, and Randy Jackson. Lopez I could do without but Steven Tyler was amusing. This year those two have both moved on and now there will be four judges. Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and of course Randy.

I know a lot of people hate on Mariah Carey but at the end of the day no one in the world can sing more octaves than her. Thats in the guiness book of world records so check it out. If you dont know what octaves are then you dont know as much about music as you think and you need to see Google about that. Her opinion shall be respected by me. It is a singing contest after all.

Now as for Ms. Minaj, I do like some of her music but she is terribly inconsistent. She is gangster one minute and barbie the next. Personally I prefer the gangster Nicki. I guess her multiple personalities is part of her appeal to the masses though. Now for her being a judge on Idol I dont know about that. I dont feel like she has been in the game long enough, also it is not a rapping competition it is a singing competition.....She was brought in only to bring the attention of a younger audience but I think they will probably lose out on the older audiences that religiously watch the program.

Keith Urban is country and they do need a country judge so Im cool with that. The thing that is the big deal is that there is apparently this ongoing beef between Minaj and Mariah. It was a rumor until today when a video came out of the two in a heated argument. Minaj is shown screaming in the video "I told them I wasnt dealing with your fucking highness over here" as she then looks at Carey. Mariah is shown saying something back but you cant tell what she is saying. Poor Keith Urban has thrown up his hands and is sitting there looking perplexed while Randy Jackson tries to break it up. Noone knows who released the video and no one is commenting on it. Im gonna have to go team Mariah on this one just for the simple fact that Minaj shouldnt be there in the first place. Thats not her fault though she is just collecting a check.

Coheed and Cambria Concert AC

Lets talk about the Coheed and Cambria concert in Atlantic City that I just went to. AMAZING. Claudio (lead singer) was much more talkative than he usually is. He really is so down to earth. I had noticed that almost every one at the show were wearing their Coheed band t shirts. Thats a pretty lame move in my opinion. I would never wear the band t shirt to the show of that band. I was thinking about blogging about that actually when Claudio came out and to my surprise he was rocking a Coheed shirt also. Then he spoke, he said that it would be the first and last time that he would ever wear one of his own bands shirts. It was so funny that I didnt even care about everyone elses fashion offenses at the show. He said he did it because he was in a funny mood.

The songs were incredible as always. The crowd was rowdy, which is the norm. There were about 7 fights that night. I personally saw 3 or 4 people escorted out including one female. But what do we expect to happen when the band has lyrics about slamming a girls head in the fucking door? Its sung beautifully though. The opening band was Deer Hunter. They were surprisingly good. Better than any other band I have seen open for Coheed. I bought their album from the merch table and then actually had a conversation with the guitarist who was rocking a black flag shirt, much better attire than Claudio lol. Unfortunately I was not very impressed with the guitarist personality wise. Good thing his music makes up for it. All in all this was the best Coheed show that I have seen since the first one I saw in 2006 at HFStival. I will be posting pictures this week.

Carly Rae Jepson Nude Pics!!!

Sex sells right??? Alleged nude photos of the Call Me Maybe singer have surfaced. Im assuming the photos were taken before she was a superstar but who knows. People arent the brightest these days...or maybe its smart to have sex tapes and nude photos for publicity reasons....would you do it? Well Carly says she would not, and she also claims that these photos are not of her. I think that atleast 1 is definately her. Reports also came out that she has contacted canadian police to report the hacking of her computer resulting in these photos being released. If they arent her then what would there be to report to the police? SO Here are the pictures...what do you think?

I think the last two shots are definately her and the others are a possibility. I also LOVE how they put justin biebers face over one of her nipples......He is definately hitting that or going to be soon. Selena Gomez beware.

The Cure/Song Pop the game

I have forgotten how much I liked The Cure. In 2005 and 2006 I listened to them a lot. I even had one of their songs playing on my, dare I say, MySpace page! lol No one has those any more I know. I was playing this new game I discovered Song Pop. It plays clips of songs and who ever guesses the artist or track title first wins. To my surprise, Friday Im in Love by The Cure played. Needless to say I won that round but right after I was done I got on Itunes and downloaded the track. I was happy with my purchase. Then today I was playing song pop again. (SO ADDICTING) That game is like craxk for music lovers and musicians everywhere. Anyhow, another Cure song came up. Its called Lovesong. Honestly this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I feel like most of this new generation is clueless to this band and its our job to let them know whats up and whats good. Call me maybe is this generations love song and thats sad. Please everyone go spend 99 cents and download The Cure : Lovesong right now. Lets save ourselves before its too late, and just for shits and giggles download the app song pop on your phones. Its free.

Green Day singer goes to rehab

It is sad that Billie Joe Armstrong, and the band for that matter, caved to pressure and did the ultimate unpunk thing - apologized for their “bad behavior” at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Honestly, a punk band swearing, never heard of such a thing!
What was referred to as “a meltdown” by most media outlets due to the singer dropping f-bombs after realizing their set needed to wrap up is now the impetus for Armstrong heading to rehab seeking treatment for substance abuse.
Interesting turn of events for the 40-year-old.
Green Day, originally scheduled to take the stage at 11:05 p.m. Friday night, went on at 11:30 p.m. Due to the event’s backed up itinerary the band were already behind schedule when they hit the stage. Their performance was in fact cut short. Whether or not the band knew ahead of time, well the reaction speaks for itself.
Audience members at iHeartRadio Festival looked like they were enjoying Green Day's performance. Even with a so called meltdown. Armstrong jumped into the audience and all but pulled his pants down and gave blood during the performance. Fans will tell you when they don’t enjoy a gig.
E! News reports after the set Armstrong was “backstage laughing and the fans loved it. A very rock 'n' roll moment."
Three weeks ago the band was forced to cancel a date in Bologna, Italy after the singer was hospitalized. The illness was kept hush hush, but bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool told fans via video, “Doctors don’t think it’s a good idea for him to play today. This sucks, we really really were looking forward to playing in Bologna as the highlight of our tour.”
Armstrong discharged himself from the hospital and reports swirled he was suffering from exhaustion, loss of voice, or maybe gastric problems, but whatever the mystery illness he would be well enough to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Days later the band performed at the Video Music Awards where Dirnt offered up this explanation to MTV:
"Billie came down with heavy, heavy dehydration; it was like severe dehydration, influenza, and it was just a really, really bad situation. "He woke up in the morning and it was bad. Let's put it this way, if you're in your hotel room and you're vomiting profusely, it's not fun. So what are you gonna do? It's hard to sing while you're puking."
Twenty-four hours following the iHeartRadio Music Fest, Green Day stated on its website "Our set was not cut short by Clear Channel," the host of the two-day festival and futhermore "apologized to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas." Who was offended? The band didn't mention fans in that public spanking/apology.
Green Day regretfully postponed some of its upcoming promotional appearances including an autograph signing Sept. 26 at Tilly's in Burbank. The North American tour is scheduled to kick off late November at Seattle's Paramount Theater. Let's get back to the offended.
Could the message, boys and girls, be that you don’t want to mess with Clear Channel, the largest radio station group owner in the United States? With Green Day about to drop a new album, "¡Uno!," they probably want to have Clear Channel in their corner.
Regarding that lame apology. Apologize for something real. Apologize for canceling shows because you're wasted. Apologize for wasting a fan's time because they have to rearrange their schedules. Apologize for putting on a bad show because you’re drunk or high or whatever the case may be and have no respect for your audience. Don’t apologize for pissing off the brass and then call yourself a punk rock band. Good luck in rehab. I am a fan of the music but not so much Billie any more. He is a bit full of himself and strung out. There is a big difference between partying and being strung out.

Wyclef and Lauryn Hill: Fugees Break up

I started to write something up about Cee-Lo Greens Christmas album thats coming out, but there is something more pressing to me right now.

Wyclef Jean of the Fugees just released his auto biography and in it he shits on Lauryn Hill and blames her for the break up of the Fugees. This disappoints me because they broke up in the 90s and up until now anytime he was interviewed he always had nice things to say about her and that he hoped they could reunite one day. They actually have reunited for performance in both 2004 and 2006. We all know or atleast the informed crown knew that Lauryn Hill and Wyclef had an affair back then and he had a wife at the time and got found out and then the Fugees broke up. I feel like that is all the publuc needed to know but now so much more has been thrown out there.

Wyclef says that Lauryn had mislead him about the paternity of her first born child. She apparently had led him to believe the child was his up until the birth when infact the child was fathered by Bob Marleys son Rohan. He said after that Lauryn could no longer be his muse and the group broke up subsequently after. I have always been a fan of Wyclef but I feel like its notfair for him to say that or even feel that way about it when he was a married man. How dare he do that when he was the one who was married and now to down her like that and blame her for the break up. Perhaps she said it was his because it could have been and she hoped it was>? Just saying.

Either way the world suffered a loss when the Fugees broke up. One of the greatest groups of all time. Lauryn Hill is one of the most talented artists there ever has been. Her album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was critically acclaimed and is still hailed one of the top 10 hip hop albums of all time. Maybe one day she can get her mental issues straight and come back for another album. As for Wyclef , Im still a fan , but Im just disappointed. He is better than that. No one needs to air dirty laundry to the whole world.

Interview with Anthony Pucci of DTFamous!

Let me first start off by saying that all of my interviews will be non biased. Friends or not with anyone I interview, I will always give my honest opinion when it comes to the music.

Today I sat down with Anthony Pucci for an hour and a half to discuss the ins and outs on this local favorite. I had been wondering what all of the buzz was about and why I keep seeing cars with DTFamous stickers on their windows.....This is what I found out:

Anthony is a poet before a musician. From a young age he wrote poetry, mostly having to do with love. It came naturally to him. His love for poetry first transcended into music in 1999 when he lived in Florida. You may or may not recall a song from that time period called "Got Rice?" It was parody type asian pride song laid down on top of the beat from Tupac hit "Changes". Anthony and his friends made a song answering to that track. Their song was called "Got Fries" and it was a caucasian pride song. "Got Fries" doesnt sound like the most clever thing I have ever heard of, but they were 13 year old boys. I would actually love to hear the lyrics lol. I did find the "Got Rice" track and the video will be displayed at the bottom of this article.

It seems these days that Anthony has come a long way from 8th grade love poems and parodies. Now he seems intent on delivering positivity through hip hop. While he cannot speak for the other members in his group, Anthony's lyrics are always clean. When asked what it is all about for him he says "If I can catch somebody's attention and make something positive out of it, then thats what Im going to do with it." He does not, however, discriminate against artists who do use profanity. Recently the national act Nappy Roots came to town and DTFamous was asked to be the opening act. Nappy Roots does use profanity, but Anthony still said that opening for them was a great opportunity that he is glad that he didnt miss out on. I was at this show myself and I must say it was all around amazing. At one point during the Nappy Roots performance the members had lit a blunt (marijuana in a cigar wrapper) and passed it around the stage and in the audience. Anthony excused himself to the other room while this was happening because even though he does not judge other people for their lifestyle choices he chooses not to be present during. He also does not drink.

As for his personal taste in music, he says he likes everything as long as its not hardcore. He doesnt enjoy any screaming to the point that he cant understand whats being said. Even though he listens to everything he chooses to 95 % of the time listen to underground music like his own. His favorite artist is Jon Young. Jon Young is an unsigned artist out of Florida. As a matter of fact Anthony says that if he could choose just one album to listen to for the rest of his life it would be Jon Young - Not Thinkin About Tomorrow. Its more positive than his prior albums and about real life situations and circumstance.

To end my spiel I asked the 26 year old up and coming artist where he sees himself in 5 years. He didnt list anything about music, which he considers more of a hobby than a career. He instead said he would like to be in a happy marriage, which is a modern day rarity and have a bambino (italian for baby, yes he is sicilian). It genuinely seemed like having a family is important to him. He also said that he would like to have a good job in the IT field.

Now on to the fun stuff: Questions from the audience

Ashliegh G. asked :
What does he wear to bed?   gym shorts and a t-shirt usually.
Steph P. asked:
Are you a guido, like from Jersey Shore? No. Im proud to be sicilian but I dont do the things they do.
Juan V. asked:
What is his writing process? Beats or lyrics first? I get the beats first and then I rap over and over again on them until I get it right and add a melody or hook.
Does he get a lot of girls? Yes and No. I could but most times Im not interested.

New Kesha Album...ew

Kesha has a new album coming out apparently. YAY (not really). In my opinion Kesha has next to zero talent. She had one or two catchy songs, Tik Tok and the other I cant even recall. Tik Tok was like the album of wasted superficial whores everywhere. It was catchy but I could have made it or my dog could probably make something catchy. Then every time you saw her after that she was sloppy tore up wearing something that she stole from a hooker and I even had a picture sent to my phone once of her with semen on her chest laying in some bed somewhere. Im all about partying and even taking control of your sexuality but this chick is just celebrating being a super sloppy smut. Be one or the other please or make it a rarity to be sloppy drunk atleast. Anyhow - after the popularity of those two songs wore off she went M.I.A. for 2 years and now she is back out in public because she is marketing her new album, which comes out December 4th. If I were Jay-Z I would be offended that this potato sack bodied non talent having alcoholic whore is releasing an album on my birthday. He should buy her record label just so he can shut it down.
Her new single is reportedly coming out next Tuesday. We can only hope that it is something catchy to get the girls excited at bars. That is what she is good for. I dont hate her music as much as I hate her and her music to me isnt good enough to constitute her wreckless behavior. It was okay when Madonna was a whore.  Anyhow incase you are a college guy looking for something to make bimbo sorority girls start to girate and loosen up.....here is the album cover:

On another note..the album is titled Warrior...look at the cover though. What is she a warrior of? LSD?  At the VMAs she was relying on Wiz Khalifa just to hold her up.

FREE WEEZER SHOW IN DELAWARE!!!

I am ecstatic to announce that there is a Weezer concert scheduled in Delaware this month. It is September 29th. The doors open at 2 pm and the show starts at 4pm. It is amazing that a group this huge will be in Delaware. What is even more amazing is that this show is absolutely free of charge. Its at the opening of a new Apple store in Newark, Delaware, so there will no doubt be lots of give aways and prizes. I would recommend going to this. I would be there myself if I didnt already have tickets to see Coheed and Cambria that same day in Atlantic City. I am still trying to work it out so I can be at both......I need a teleportation device. Anyhow this is so huge because Delaware rarely gets any big music acts. 2012 has been big for Delaware because of the Firefly Music estival and now this. Hopefully this carries on into 2013, assuming that the world doesnt end in December lol.

Tupac RIP

Well my blog is locked by this site because they thought I was spam so I cant post this right away but everything should be back up and running within 2 business days.  Anywhooooo......

Today is the anniversary of Tupacs death. He died on this day in 1996. I cant believe its been 16 years. Even people that do not like rap music know about Tupac and Biggie Smalls. Theres been rumors for years that Tupac is still alive and he faked his death but those are most likely stirred up by fans that didnt want to accept his passing. The two most famous rappers there have ever been are dead and he is one of them. He died at age 25 which was entirely too young for anyone to go. His legend remains alive in some incredible songs. "Changes" is my favorite Tupac song. You guys should listen to it if you havent. Itll bring some things to light. Tupac was actually very intelligent. What people do not realize is he actually went to a school for the arts and attended with Jada Pinket Smith who was one of his best friends. He cared about things he wasnt some dumb thug. Listen to "Brendas Got A Baby". He was multi faceted. I do not doubt that he was actually quite gangster but there was more depth to him than a lot of people give him credit for.
Sooo..... RIP Tupac  -gone too soon

Interviews

Starting next week sometime I will be interviewing local artists. Members of bands and local groups and whatnot is what I am looking for. Its time we get back to what music really is. Its time to examine some underground stuff and who knows maybe the east coast has some diamonds in the rough? Anyone ever hear of a group called N.E.R.D.? When I was a preteen I used to go to Virginia Beach all of the time to visit my sister. I happened upon a local rap section in a music store and purchased an album by them before they were famous. Loved them then and was so happy and became a bigger fan when they made it big. Remember that every artist starts somewhere and give local bands and artists a chance!!

Lady Gaga

Has anybody seen the new Lady Gaga commercial for her perfume? I believe its called fame. The commercial is almost haunting and she gives out a screech at the end. I actually kinda like it. Gives her a few more points in my book. I like a lot of her songs. My struggle with her is that she tries too hard. She isnt all that original, she copied a lot from Madonna but since people started saying that she has worn meat dresses and shown up to an award show in an egg......wtf?
I wish she would just rely on the fact that she writes her own songs and sings well instead of trying to present an image. Just be yourself. I saw pictures of her before she got famous and she was actually pretty now she is crazy looking.

Miley Cyrus Break In

Whaaaaaat?!?!?!? I am hoping the scissors were for clipping a lock of her hair. Not that Im a fan but damn. Miley Cyrus is one of the most over rated celebrities of all time. A few of her songs were catchy but shes not a great singer, she doesnt write her own music and as an actress I cannot stand her. Worst actress ever. I cannot stand the sound of her voice and she is a spoiled bitch of a person, thats word on the street anyhow. Either way no one deserves crazies attacking their residence. Also some of the scandals involving her people should have just left her alone. She was an adult who cares if she tries salvia which is something you can buy over the counter in stores or gas stations.

Intruder arrested at home of Miley Cyrus

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A man with a pair of scissors who claimed to be the husband of teen singer Miley Cyrus was arrested at her Los Angeles-area home after jumping the fence, police and local media reported on Sunday.
Cyrus, 19, was out of town at the time of the incident. Police said they received an emergency call from the property after the man got onto the grounds before dawn on Saturday, knocked on the door and banged on the walls of the former "Hannah Montana" star's house.
Los Angeles police said officers found the man hiding in the bushes and jailed him for trespassing. He was carrying scissors in a back pocket.
Celebrity news website TMZ.com ran video of the arrest, in which the man is heard telling police as they searched him: "I am a friend of Miley Cyrus. I am. She's my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years."
Cyrus rose to fame as the star of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" show. Cyrus went on to build a worldwide singing career that includes hits like "Party in the U.S.A." and "The Climb."

Future

I havent posted in a couple days so I need to put you guys on to something new. Even when I am not posting, music is a part of my life every single day. Sometimes music is the only thing that can cheer a person up and sometimes music can also remind you of something important that you have lost or might lose. NOW....

I have been hearing a song on the radio called turn on the lights. The singing is horrible and auto tuned but for some reason its addictive. Its got the best vibe and flow. It has a line that may be familiar to you. "I wanna tell the world bout you just so they can get jealous" ....Its great

I googled it to see who the artist was. Turned out to be a guy named Future. I got on Itunes and looked the album up only to discover that atleast 4 or 5 songs on this guys album have been huge singles on the radio in the last 6 months. I was wondering how this is possible that I know eery word to these songs but havent a clue who this guy is. Turns out the songs are all featurning some other more popular artist such as T.I. or Drake so that had over shadowed the artist to whom the songs actually belonged. I bought the whole album though Im not sure it would pass the smiley test. If you dont know about the smiley test please refer to the Tom Petty article. The album is 9.99 and the single is 1.29 but for now I must only recommend buying the single ..Turn On The Lights.
Check it out.

MTV Music Video Awards

WHOOOOOO!!! Big night for music blogs.
Well I just got finished watching the MTV Music Video Awards and here are my comments.

First of all Rihannas performance at the beginning was not very good. She would sing like two words and then stop and let the prerecorded track play. I could do that and sound decent and trust me I sing horribly. Then throughout the show they kept showing her and Katy Perry creeping hard on one direction. Perhaps they were thinking about hooking up with Harry who already is rumored to have hooked up with a 36 year old married dj. At the end Rihanna won Best Music Video of the year and she got up and dusted her shoulder off, pimp move taken from her boss....Jay-Z. Good job.

Drake won Best Hip Hop Video. Good. I would have voted for Jay-Z but I do like Drake. I did not, however, like his outfit. What the hell was with that silk shirt he was wearing? With his fro cut that way and his silk shirt he looked like a 70s porn star. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHAT NICKI MINAJ WAS WEARING nor her strange demeanor and speech. I do like her music sometimes though. I liked her small verse better than Alicia Keys in her own song. It was neat that they had Gabby from the olympic team come do some flips on stage .

I only have a few more things to add:

1. One Direction was actually good. I never gave them a chance before.
2. Kesha looked messed up on pills or heroin. Its bad when you gotta hold on to Wiz Khalifa for balance.
3. Im really glad that they honored Adam MCA Yauch. He was an innovator NO SLEEP TIL BROOKLYN!!!
4. Lastly  I will admit that Taylor Swifts closing perfrmance wasnt bad. It was decent and she looked better in that striped shirt than she does when she is all dressed up. She does seem a tad full of herself now.

Thats it!!!! No epic moments this year. Im out.

Richest Rappers/Beats By Dre Headphones

Love this article. Dr Dre deserves it! If you own headphones then you need to own beats by dre. The sound is unrivaled and the quality is incredible meaning you will have to replace them less. So even though they are pricey they are well worth it. Below is a picture of me with my beats by dre ear buds in. The proof is in the pudding.

Dr. Dre's Headphones Land Him Highest-Paid Rapper Title By Forbes

Diddy, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne also top magazine's 'Cash Kings 2012: Hip-Hop's Top 20 Earners' list.

Anticipation continues to build for Detox, but even without the long-anticipated album hitting shelves, big banks haven't Forgot About Dre.
Hip-hop icon Dr. Dre rocked Coachella with an all-star cast of collaborators past and present (and even deceased) this year with more skill than half the guys half his age who are promoting new albums, all while banking his way to becoming the highest paid rapper of the year.
How'd he do it? Beats by Dre, of course, which now accounts for more than half of the high-end headphone market. According to the brand-new list of hip-hop's highest-paid earners featured in Forbes magazine's September 24 issue, Beats by Dre was responsible for $100 million of Dre's pretax $110 million haul over the past year. The N.W.A. rapper/producer, who launched the careers of Snoop Dogg and Eminem, got into the speaker game at the urging of Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, who was one of the partners who benefited when handset maker HTC spent $300 million purchasing a 51 percent stake in Beats.
Dre managed to pass his peers like Diddy, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, who rounded out the top five.
Like Dre, Diddy's annual payday had little to do with album sales or touring revenue. Most of his $45 million came from Diageo's Cîroc vodka, according to the Forbes report. More than half of Jay-Z's $38 million came from his pieces of the Brooklyn Mets, cosmetics company Carol's Daughter and other ventures. Jay helped Kanye make a bunch of his $35 million of course, thanks to the Watch the Throne album and tour. Tha Carter IV was a smash, but Wayne's cash from Trukfit (his clothing line) and his sponsorship deal with Mountain Dew certainly didn't hurt, either. Weezy pulled in a reported $27 million.
Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records stayed true to their names by landing a few more artists on the Forbes list, as well. Drake's $20.5 million was enough to put him in #6, with Cash Money co-founder Bryan "Birdman" Williams just behind at #7 with $20 million. The crew's own Nicki Minaj, the first ever female on MTV's Annual Hottest MC's list, was #8 with $15.5 million. For those keeping score, that's four slots in a row dominated by Young Money.
Eminem doesn't have any headphones, vodka or soda pop deals to deal with, but he still managed to make $15 million this year from his back catalog and shows. Last year, Marshall won a lawsuit against Universal Music Group involving royalties from digital sales of his music. As MTV's Rap Fix noted in a story, "Forbes magazine might have to make some room for Eminem," and indeed they did. Slim Shady was #9 on the Forbes list.
Dre wasn't the only rapper in the top 10 with headphones on the market. Soul, the headphone company launched by Ludacris, helped put him at the #10 spot with a $12 million take that also came courtesy of roles in "Fast Five" and "New Year's Eve," plus Conjure cognac and those smooth Radio Shack voiceovers.
The rest of the Top 20: Pitbull ($9.5 million); Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifia (tied with $9 million each); Snoop ($8.5 million); 50 Cent ($7.5 million); Swizz Beats, Pharrell Williams and Young Jeezy (tied with $7 million each); Mac Miller ($6.5 million); and Akon, Timbaland, Tech N9ne (tied with $6 million each).
Of course, all of the hip-hop entrepreneurs in Forbes' "Cash Kings 2012: Hip-Hop's Top 20 Earners" have some sort of history with the VMAs, as either performers, winners, presenters and/or spectators over the years. Tune in tomorrow to watch the music moguls do their thing!

Tom Petty on Itunes

It was brought to my attention today that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have their greatest hits album on itunes for $7.99. You are probably laughing and can only think of one or 2 songs by Tom Petty that would be on there, but actually there are quite a few songs you hear on the radio by them and dont even know its them. Im talking about classics. High quality classic songs. The kind of song writing that is seldomly found any more. There are 18 songs on the album. 8 bucks for 18 songs is not a bad deal.
Below is the track list with a smiley face next to some of my favorites. Tom Petty songs are mood changers. Songs you can listen to when you are down and they will give you inspiration or make you feel "free" from whatever binds you.

1. American Girl :)
2. Breakdown
3. Listen to her heart
4. I need to know
5. Refugee
6. Dont do me like that :)
7. Even the losers
8. Here comes my girl :)
9. The waiting
10. You got lucky
11. Dont come around here no more :) :)
12. I wont back down
13. Running down a dream
14. Free Fallin' :) :)
15. Learning to Fly
16. Into the great wide open
17. Mary Janes last dance :) :)
18. Something in the air

The songs that I double smilied (yes I invented that word) are must hears. These are songs that even if you dont buy the album you need to go listen to immediately. I mean really listen to, pay attention and get lost in. Those three songs are worth 8 dollars by themselves. You are welcome.

Love and Hip Hop : Lil Scrappy

I have to admit, I have been a fan of Lil Scrappy in the past. I was a sucker for his song No Problem in '05 but it seemed like he pretty much dissappeared after that. Now he is being featured on this show Love and Hip Hop on VH1. Reality shows are one of my guilty pleasures.
This show has brought some things to light that make me question how I feel about Lil Scrappy. I dont know if its because his mother seems more gangster than him or what??? I think his mother makes him look like a bitch on the show. She comes across as a lunatic, calling herself the queen and he is the prince and so on and so forth. It would be one thing if she said it once or twice but she says it over and over again and to top it off on the reunion show she gave him a cheap ass crown calling him prince of the south....who the hell is the king then? I didnt care that he is a player, but it would seem that he is also broke. Im just saying...dont make songs about having money and being gangster if you are a broke ass mommas boy. Atleast he did beat down Stevie J so he maintains some validity.
Overall as an artist and a person I would rate Lil Scrappy at a 4 out of 10 right now. Do better and get your mom off of television.

Jay-Z: Made in America Festival

More jealous than anyone can imagine of anyone that went to this. I am the biggest Jay-z fan that there ever has been. I would have gone to this festival over Rock the Bells. I have a feeling that there are more festivals to come from Mr. Carter and that brings a smile to my face :)

Jay-Z mimics Rocky at Philly Made In America fest
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jay-Z's entrance said it all: He bounced up and down on top of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, mimicking Rocky before he took the stage in front of nearly 50,000. His song "Made In America" played in the background.
Jay-Z, like Rocky Balboa, has a rags-to-riches American dream story, and the 42-year-old entertainer who grew up in the Brooklyn projects and released his debut album in 1996 shared some of that through songs in his 90-minute set Saturday night at the Budweiser Made In America festival.
He entered from the back of the stage after running down the steps to perform "Public Service Announcement." That was followed with the night's first cameo: a prerecorded video with President Barack Obama.
Obama urged the crowd to vote this fall. He also said Jay-Z's story is "what Made In America means" and added that he enjoys listening to the rapper's music on his iPod.
Jay-Z headlined the first night of the two-day festival he curated, performing hits like "99 Problems," ''Dirt Off Your Shoulder," ''Big Pimpin'" and "Empire State of Mind."
The event is the first of its kind for the entrepreneurial Jay-Z, who is married to superstar Beyonce and owns a music management company, fashion line, nightclub and restaurant; he's also a co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets.
"Since you were so good to me, Philly, I'm going to be good to you tonight, Philly," Jay-Z yelled.
Rappers Pusta T and Big Sean hit the stage, and Kanye West followed, receiving an electrifying roar from the crowd. They performed a medley of hits, such as "Mercy," ''Dance" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing."
Jay-Z also brought out his former protégés and Philadelphians Freeway, Chris and Neff, as well as Memphis Bleek. Common, 2 Chainz and Swizz Beatz also made appearances.
The scene was colorful and energetic, as thousands of music fans shifted from the three stages on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to watch Skrillex, D'Angelo, Passion Pit, Janelle Monae, Calvin Harris and 10 other acts. Sunday's line-up includes Pearl Jam, Run DMC, Odd Future and Drake, who was in the crowd Saturday night.
The festival is being filmed as a documentary and will be directed by Ron Howard. Proceeds from the ticketed event will benefit United Way chapters.
Jay-Z closed the night with West, performing the smash hit "...In Paris." Then fireworks blasted.

Taylor Swift

SOOOOOOO We all know that Taylor Swift is famous for writing songs about breaking up with her ex boyfriends and bashing them; well I was (lucky?) enough to get to hear her latest single yesterday. It seems as if she has changed her sound. Its much more pop than country and sort of reminds me of that call me maybe song. I hated it at first but after the third time I heard it in 24 hours on the radio I must admit...it is rather catchy. Catchy is catchy and catchy sells records but catchy doesnt make you a legend or change peoples lives. Music does have the power to change lives.
As far as the gossip goes...everyone wants to know who this song is about. My vote is Jake Gyllenhaal which btw can do wayyyy better than Taylor Swift. I dont like her squinty eyes when she is not wearing make up but thats just me.
You are probably wondering why she makes it on my blog if Im not necessarily a fan, its because she sells enough records to be relevant thats why.

Form your own opinion:

Rock The Bells

For those of you who dont know Rock the Bells started today in New Jersey. Im super dissappointed that I am not attending that this year. Rock the Bells is a festival that legendary hip hop artist come and perform their classics. I have already seen a few of the artist that are slated to attend live so I know it will be an outstanding show. I saw Wutang when I was 15. I had lied to my father and told him I was going on a school trip to the washington zoo over Easter and really my boyfriend and I went to Norfolk and saw Wutang at a small venue called the boathouse. Each member came out and did their solo hits for about 30 minutes and then the last hour of the show all of them were on stage together. This was before ODB passed away, however he was incarcerated at the time so he was not present. Wutang started a chant and entire audience participated "FREE ODB" FREE ODB". This is when I became hooked on concerts.
J. Cole will also be at Rock the Bells. He will actually go on tomorrow. I saw him live just this past spring at UMES Homecoming. UMES is a local college that hosts a concert every year for their homecoming celebrations. This year they had Travis Porter, Miguel and J. Cole. He was very interactive with the audience. He told stories of being a broke college student before he made it big. This guy is incredible and an intellect which may come as a surprise to some haters. lol. I would recommend strongly that everyone attend Rock the Bells at least once in their lives. Ill be there next year.

RIP Chris Lighty

I need to take this moment to to say RIP to Chris Lighty. I cant say that I knew who he was before
his death hit the news, but I do know that he managed Mariah Carey, Diggy Simmons, LL Cool J and P. Diddy when he was Puff Daddy and since we all know who those people are at the very least
we can say he was good at his job. So ................ RIP Chris Lighty .

Beanie Sigel Goes to Jail

WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH CELEBRITIES NOT PAYING THEIR TAXES?!?!?!? I guess they have some sneaky accountants. I was hoping to hear some more from Beanie in the future but not only has he gained mad weight, he has also gained some jail time.

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel was arrested on Wednesday on drug and gun possession charges, celebrity website TMZ.com reported, days before he was headed to prison for tax evasion.
The rapper, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was arrested during a traffic stop during which police found prescription pills, marijuana, a gun and cash in his car, TMZ.com said.
Sigel, 38, best known for his collaborations with rapper Jay-Z and R&B artist R. Kelly, was sentenced to prison last month after owing more than $728,000 in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service, Philadelphia's local Fox affiliate said.
A judge ordered Sigel to pay all taxes, penalties and interest, which officials said he failed to do. The rapper was due to report to prison on September 12.
Representatives for Sigel and the Philadelphia police could not be reached for comment.

Here is an article I found interesting:

The 30 Richest Drummers in the World
By Tom BreihanStereogum
©Retna Ltd.
Ringo Starr (©Retna Ltd.)

Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians? A: A drummer!
If you've spent enough time hanging out with people in bands, you've heard a million jokes like this. But as it turns out, banging on things is potentially way more lucrative than anyone could've realized. Celebrity Net Worth recently published a list of the 30 richest drummers in the world. And maybe it's not surprising that Ringo Starr could buy and sell all of us several times over, or that many of the richest drummers are people who figured out ways to stop being drummers (Dave Grohl, Phil Collins). But how in the hell is Aerosmith's Joey Kramer worth $100 million? Check out the full head-spinning list below.
1. Ringo Starr (The Beatles, $300 million)
2. Phil Collins (Solo/Genesis, $250 million)
3. Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters, $225 million)
4. Don Henley (The Eagles, $200 million)
5. Lars Ulrich (Metallica, $175 million)
6. Charlie Watts (The Rolling Stones, $160 million)
7. Larry Mullen Jr. (U2, $150 million)
8. Roger Taylor (Queen, $105 million)
9. Joey Kramer (Aerosmith, $100 million)
10. Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, $90 million)
11. Travis Barker (blink-182, $85 million)
12. Stewart Copeland (The Police, $80 million)
13. Alex Van Halen (Van Halen, $75 million)
14. Nick Mason (Pink Floyd, $75 million)
15. Tommy Lee (Motley Crue, $70 million)
16. Bill Ward (Black Sabbath, $65 million)
17. Jon Fishman (Phish, $60 million)
18. Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band, $55 million)
19. Rick Allen (Def Leppard, $50 million)
20. Tre Cool (Green Day, $45 million)
21. Danny Carey (Tool, $40 million)
22. Tico Torres (Bon Jovi, $40 million)
23. Max Weinberg (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band/"Conan O'Brien," $35 million)
24. Mickey Hart (The Grateful Dead, $30 million)
25. Bill Kreutzmann (The Grateful Dead, $25 million)
26. Neil Peart (Rush, $22 million)
27. Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters, $20 million)
28. ?uestlove (The Roots, $16 million)
29. Steven Adler (Guns N' Roses, $15 million)
30. Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac, $8.5 million)

Here are my thoughts. Larry Mullen from U2 should not be in the top 10 and I am sooo glad that
Travis Barker is worth more than Tommy Lee. Also I agree with number one:)

This Blog is dedicated to reviewing albums, songs, lyrics, artists, and local groups as well. Stay Tuned!!!! I happen to be an expert;)
